hey y’all what’s that one puzzle adventure game that just fucking sucks. the one where you’re given a computer to keep track of little snippets for puzzles you need to solve but it can only hold 10 at a time so you’re still forced to just write everything you come across down and also the combat sucks ass. i can’t find it but i wanna send it to a friend because i think it’d be funny. you have a whip

HOLY SHIT NEW BIGTOP BURGER DROPPED

i think the key difference between cohost and twitter is that on twitter i’d follow someone cos they’re influential (to me), and then i’d learn their normal posts are good. on cohost i’ll follow someone because they make good posts that i like a lot and then i find out that they created a game i like or something i use a lot or something like that. this has happened at least 3 times now

i find the complaints i’ve seen of the lack of post deduplication kinda interesting. “But sometimes when i log in to cohost i’ll only see one post shared over and over again.” congrats! you saw the most important post! you’re free to log out now and touch grass or something idk

yo shoutouts to @staff for improving the photo lightbox! now alt text doesn’t make photos tiny
i still think that there’s prolly still room for some better design and stuff but it’s still nice that they managed to improve it, and there’s more pressing concerns to cohost rn than redesigning the photo lightbox to meet my very specific design criteria… like adding tips and subscriptions

today has just been a really good day for posts. good job team

man there’s some ui things about cohost that absolutely bug the shit out of me and i wish i could sit down and just fix it all even for free, but also i get that there’s only 4 people on the team and the things that make cohost able to survive for longer are probably higher priority. still tho i wish i could just join the team for a month and knock out a bunch of minor ui grievances i have, especially with the new way that the tags work with sharing now i think it’s a good feature that looks not that good idk. still love cohost tho keep up the good work staff

something wild i’ve noticed about being on cohost
i think i’ve actually posted more on cohost than i ever did on twitter. i’d come up with more posts during the day, and just post more times in a day than i did for twitter (on twitter my posting times were measured in days per post instead of posts per day). i think the main cause is just that on twitter i was always worried that any post i’d make would attract the wrong attention or make people not like me, while cohost doesn’t have the numbers or the discoverability to give me those concerns

new cohost trick that every newbie should try out
open your notifications page and filter out likes and shares. instant relief.

every other post i see in the introductions tag: “hey i guess i have an account here now. idk i might stick around if this place gets more active but who knows. seems really dead here to me tho”
my actual feed: literally flooded with posts i need to unfollow people and clean stuff up because cohost has become too active for my current browsing habits
